Land and A CloudA Poem by Yusuf Qaizar(One day a barren land, and a cloud met, and started talking aloud.) Land: I see you passing every year, And still you never spare a tear, I do not see what is your fear, Joyous fruits I wish to bear. Cloud: Oh my! That would be a blunder, That would make my elders thunder. You are rough and gloomy under, What use are tears for you I wonder? Land: I stay dry when others are sprinkled, That's what makes me rough and wrinkled. You can make rivers flow this way, And help me change my state today. Cloud: What's never been will never be, You'll never foster a flower or a tree. Water here would never help you, And it would dry the others too. Land: Do you remember if a drop ever fell? Don't I deserve a chance as well? I can climb up just throw me a rope And I'll show you the power of hope. (Strong winds blew that lonely night and brought with it an awesome sight. Great clouds covered the stringent land And offered it a helping hand.) © 2015 Yusuf QaizarAuthor's Note
