Genuine (A Continuation of At First Glance)A Poem by Yurie LeeI recently experienced something like this, and now that I am calm, I decided to write it out, but with fancy words and such. I think you will get the idea when you read it. Enjoy~ :DYears have past since that day And I still see you as I had then But with golden threads and porcelain conviction That twirls me into a wondrous dance
My adolescent blue eyes blossomed For you, as with my young heart Finally entering a similar stage, Perhaps genuineness is approaching
And it has! The spring night of the eighth A sense of fulfillment felt so near My frail heart swelled with such warmth I've waited so, so long!
And...anguish Genuineness came oddly sudden No, no, no I should be happy Really, everything was so wonderful
Forsake my heart, distressed and sorrowed No matter how genuine it seems" I knew that it did not exist, even on that day Yet my youthful nature believed it purely
All the blue drained from my eyes It came just as suddenly as the night before There was nowhere to hide Genuineness surrounded me from all over
It was an odd form of heartache, but not any different However, I still see you with your golden thread As well as your porcelain conviction With my adult grey eyes © 2016 Yurie LeeAuthor's Note
