"

As Zelda walks into her regular old homeroom, waiting for a regular day to pass by, a seat change will change everything for her.

"
I was headed into school in a hurry. "Dang!" I said to myself. "I'm going to be late!". As I walked into my homeroom, the bell rang. I looked around the class once I sat down. Everyone was already in their seat, laughing, and talking away, as we waited for our homeroom teacher to get here. "I wish I had somebody I could talk to.". I thought. It had always been like this, 3 quarters out of 4, and still not a single friend. It was alright. I didn't need friends anyways. I sighed. When something so minor happened, changed how I percieved the world.
The teacher had walked in. "Okay everyone!" he said. "New seats!". Huh. New seats. I sat still, staring down at my pencil. Everyone else was excited, yet nervous. As he put up the seat chart, everyone started moving around. I immedietley went to my seat and sat. In the back, not bad! That way I wouldn't be constantly called on. Hopefully. I could hear the noise of everyone's backpack and footsteps, as they shuffle around the classroom. It wasn't the largest room, yet it wasn't the smallest either. Just the right size. My table was still pretty empty. Me and this other popular girl, talking to her friends. Eventually, I heard the sound of someone dropping their backpack. Harshly.
Naturally, I looked up, annoyed. I hated loud noises. It was that guy. Let's just call him...blank. For now. "Blank", the most popular guy in school. In the football team, dated a ton of girls, along with dumping them, smartest kid in class. Basically what people would call, the "perfect person". I personally do not know what they see in him. And as I looked up at him, he stared at me. Observently. "What is he doing?" I thought. So I decided to stare back. Eventually, he said something. "Why are you alone all the time?". He asked me. What a rude question. So I shrugged. "Dunno. I just don't have any friends." I said, looking down. It wasn't exactly something to be proud of. ".....?" He had a confused look on his face. "I'm your friend." Blank said.
Blank had been in my class the previous year, back in Middle School. We didn't really talk. So I didn't really consider him to be a friend. I messed with my pencil. "H-Huh?" I said. What was I supposed to say? "Well, you don't have to be my friend if you don't want to." I said, angrily yet embarrassed. Strange. Why did I feel embarrassed of all emotions? Angry was normal though. It seemed like he was forcing himself. What is he, trying to become "friends" with everyone in the school to become even more popular? Well he didn't have to pull me along with him. I'd be just fine on my own.
He seemed confused again. He looked at me closer. "But I want to be your friend!" He said, very bluntly. Like always. "O-okay then." I said. My face felt hot. I touched it, and my hands felt frozen compared to my face! Was I sick?
As homeroom went by, I walked out of my classroom. "Zelda!" I heard a familiar voice call. Just what have I gotten myself into?

Good start. Maybe tighten it up a little bit. Give me a few simple details so I know the girl is lonely, in class and anxious about seating changes. Then maybe, could the guy and the girl start a conversation about something specific happening in class? Keep writing!
