Clear Day

Clear Day

A Poem by Yun

Apparently it’s a beautiful day

Sun shining brilliantly, not a Cloud in the sky

Not one

What people don’t realise

Is that the Clouds’ absence

Is a bad thing

Do they not know the love of the Clouds?

How tender and fluffy they are?

Are they not nothing more than floating pillows?

I thought people liked pillows.

I was convinced that they did!

How they bless us with their rain!

(happy droplets of refreshing love)

It reminds me of the time I was in the city…

I looked up, and I saw a series of giant explosions in the sky

Effervescing fire above me and on the horizon

Not fireworks

But something else, more beautiful and powerful

And yet nobody looks

Nobody stops walking along the busy streets to witness the

Passionate display above their heads

I am the only one who can appreciate it

The only one who notices

It seems that people can’t see so many things

The couldn’t see the explosions

And they can’t see that a clear day is a curse

I like how you mention it is a sunny day and usually people think that is the kind of day that is the most beautiful. Nevertheless, you mention how there being absent clouds is not always so great, but more so a bad thing. You really did express the wonders of a cloudy day in a poetic way. You gave something so simple so much meaning and so much feeling that not everyone notices. Love it, good job!
