For Nightflower

For Nightflower

A Poem by Yumaz

A goldenrod among the thistle

calls the monarch across the stream

Jubilant sun awakens my senses

to crisp autumn morning.

Swaying signpost guides him

through desolate field

Coming to rest at last; enveloped

by stigma-bound pollen cloud,

He delights in new-found

purpose.

Full-mouth grin turns

to raucous laughter,

Destroying walls built on foundations

of preconceived notions.

Youthful manifestos become

documents of foreign stupidity,

Left in the past like friends

no longer dear.

Rip me away from reality,

throw me violently back into

Hazed fantasy where

love is blind and truth is true.

Call on me to deliver the

world from its salvation

Forever damning naked sinners

to an eternity of bliss.

Oh, woman of my heart,

hear me scream your name

under gilded moonlight.

Feel me shiver with star-rent glory

Hear my breath as it escapes the

boundaries of the universe,

colliding with alternate reality just beyond sight.

Take hold and come with

me to places thought unreal -

Actual, living joy surrounded by primal beauty

Caressed with unending

affection and love.

Be my forever and close your eyes.
