The Unknown

A little something about the call of the void I recommend a little documentary on YouTube about spelunking called “fear of depths”

Darkness can envelop
Like a comforting cloak
Or perhaps a concealing veil.
Depths drawing, sinking,
Like an ocean or a thought.
What wonders and horrors lie beneath?
Would we be better not knowing?
Or would we be magnetised deep within the gaping maw of the very earth,
More vast and alien than the sky itself?

Fear makes the wolf bigger than he is. I felt a Donnie Darko film theme here cause that film uses that idea heavily in that movie. Fear and darkness haves such emotional resonance within us. Marcus Aurelius said once " The mind is that which is aroused and directed by itself. It makes of itself what it chooses. It makes what it chooses of its own experience."
