Never For You Will I Cry AgainA Poem by Michelle Long
Because of you, my heart's an empty box;
Your memory suppressed deeply in my thoughts.
All of the beautiful facades stapled on like pins.
Never for you will I cry again…
Since I’ve been able to say that, I don’t know when.
You’ve broken me down, now this mess I’m in.
Tis all a reminder how there’s no one you can trust,
And how “stupid” I was for carving the cuts.
I thought if you saw how much I’d cared,
That to ever have hurt me you wouldn’t of dared.
But you just took advantage, knowing I’m naïve;
Simply laughing at how much it made me bleed
If I wasn’t blinded, I would’ve known,
About how many of your actions were only for show.
I guess, in the end, my heart shall never mend…
But never for you will I cry again.
