Poor Little Stray

Poor Little Stray

A Poem by NeonWolves

The little stray paws down the street
So small and fragile,
Fur torn and tattered,
So young yet so damned.
His little heart beats slow and weak.
Poor little stray.
His heart is gold and his choices true.
Never had a chance
Could of lived a real life.
If only someone would pick him up
Clean his fur and fill his belly.
Who knows.
The little stray could be strong and bright.
His fur could be smooth
His heart beating in tune.
Poor little stray.
If only we were kind.
We would look beyond the frame
Beyond those sad eyes
And beyond the shame.
If only we knew.
Poor little stray.

This tugs at my heartstrings, it really does. All the little strays in he world could be so beautiful and bright if someone would only take the time to nurture them.
