The Seeker

The Seeker

A Poem by Callen Stein
"

Shakespearean sonnet style

"
The storm is growing as the night grows weaker,
A dark mass of anger and resentment.
In the hopes of the gods is a seeker
To settle the storm into contentment.

Glory to the seeker in this hour
For the valor that resides in her heart.
She delves into herself for the power
In order to coax the storm to depart.

Gem eyes reflect the madness in her soul,
Which disintegrates her from the inside.
Facing her demons has taken its toll.
Time slips by in the chaos of her lies.

The storm dissipates and unleashes rain,
But the seeker's heart is yet to regain.

I do like this, it brought some questions to my mind, the foremost of which was, what is the seeker seeking? I think the first two lines of the third stanza are my favorite, speaking as someone who likewise contains madness in their soul. Glory to the seeker indeed

You never know what she's seeking, because she may be seeking anything.
