The pockmarked sky, scarred with clouds
loosed the rain upon the ground And all the silver teardrops fell against the homes where man would dwell. How long in time do houses stand? A blink, a word, that's all they have. A hovel, an office, a tenement flat The wild will claim them Be sure of that Behold the tower, looming large; A cry for help, a claim of ours. Now it's cracked and run with green the moss and bracken reconvene; Man paints no more upon the scene. But life goes on without man's steps; No one to remember Nothing. to forget. © 2014 Geoffrey SpriggottFeatured Review
