Realities

Realities

A Poem by Smithie Austin McLyn
"

Truth Hides Behind Those Walls You Create

"

You build up a wall to shield you from your cruel reality

Deep inside you know you’re just plain wrong

All you do is just hurt those you want to help

So you build a new persona

A person that hides behind a fake smile

A person that just always seems happy

Yet deep inside you just aren’t you anymore.

Your laughter covers up your screams

Your jokes cover up your true words

Yet no one seems to realize who you really are.

They just all seem to play along…

It just all seems so right

That break apart from that person seems so hard.

But you know that no one can know you’re broken and in pain…
