Mother RobinA Poem by Viki RachelA mother robin loses her chick."My baby! My baby!" Mother Robin cries, She looks for her chick as she swoops through the skies. "Oh where is she now? Has she fallen from the nest? I am sure she is not well; I am sure she is not well!" Yes, little Mother Robin knew her baby had fell. She flies and she flies through the big blue skies, Looking for her baby, but it is no use, for the chick has died. Indeed, she lives no more: She fell into the river, Drowned! And is now washed ashore. Mother Robin spies a red breast! It belongs to her baby who fell out of the nest. Mother Robin cries for her chick, And does not eat for days, She is oh so sad in oh so many ways. Then, in despair, she falls into eternal sleep, That was the last time that Mother Robin would ever weep. © 2010 Viki RachelAuthor's Note
