Second Best

Just a little poem I made for my best friends son Jonathan Jr :) I love you little buddy!

He's second best, second to the one before

living life in his own footsteps destined to walk alone

He is a beckon of hope when all there is is doubt

His laugh sweet and innocent

Emitting warm smiles with eyes honest and pure

He's second best, second to the one before

That doesn't make him least greater than the rest

With charm and grace he will live amongst the best of the best

He is the Jr to a Sr as loving as he please

Born out of love he takes his place on his throne willingly with ease

Second in command, the prince of his King

Made with gentleness and tranquility he will fight through the rain

So long live the second best, second to the one before

Your destiny awaits but first, prepare your shield for war

Never forget your Queen, the first person you met from which you were born

Protect and serve, be what she hopes

She will love you regardless but always take note

Shine your favorite armor, prepare to fight the good fight

Life comes at you fast, be prepared morning, noon and night

Leave a legacy for the next, for the 3rd of your kind

There will be a time where the kingdom is in peril

Take the Queen's advice and be the best of the best, be what she needs

Be the best you, be the best Second best, Second to the one before.

You are God's gift, you are the second blessed
