Silent Night

It probably does not make sense

I close my eyes, clearing my mind from all my thoughts.
Right now. Right at this moment, there is nothing but broken pieces. Not even my memories exist.

I notice something familiar with these broken glass pieces.  While picking up a shard from the ground, a tremble flows through my body. It is as if I have gained something back.
Without warning, I am knocked to the ground. Lightning surges through the shard, it flows through my body. I tightly close my eyes, my hands struggling to keep grasp onto the shard. The air fills with loud cracks, the lightning grows stronger.  I am terrified, yet,  I feel no pain.
The tension in the air dissipates. Slowly, I open to a new view. The room around me, is filled with an eerie darkness. Suddenly, two figures slowly advance towards me.
Not knowing whether to run, or stand my ground, I freeze in place.
"Who are you! Where am I?!" I shout out.
Not receiving an answer, I get impatient.
"Who are you! Where am I?!" I shout out again.

I try to get a good glimpse at their faces, but all I see is darkness. All I can tell is that, they are not normal. I gather up the courage to take the first step, approaching them with caution. As I get closer, I can tell a little more about them. My eyes stare into the taller of the two figures.  Even through the darkness, overwhelming sadness overcomes me. I don't know how, or why, but looking into their eyes was painful.

Before I can react any further, the two entities retreat into the darkness.

"Wait! I need..." I reach my arm out, not wanting to lose them. Before I can reach them, they vanish into the dark.

Nothing is left.  Nothing is left, besides myself, in this room filled with darkness. The night blankets this room. The wind non-existent. All I can do is stare into night.
