Kryptonite

Kryptonite

A Poem by Yonna

Piercing voices
Fill my ears with sorrow
Yet these voices
Give hope for tomorrow
As they yell and they shout
Those hurtful words
I hold my head high
And take this torture
My eyes are burning
From the tears I am holding
Behind my lids
I open my eyes
And smile a mile wide
I say nothing
I do nothing
No retaliation for me
Outside I am strong
But inside I am weak.
