Bricks in the Wall (An Epiphany)A Poem by Yoga PramarthaThis song shows an epiphany that a young adult gets when he starts to think that he is not the only one who has problems. Each and everyone of us has our own problems.I’d walk my way veer off the door For I would pack my stuff and go The air is forcing me to run Across the town I’m hiding in I’m sick of buildings on the street And I would swim against the stream I leave the green upon the trees I let the grass feel the same way Oh, I’ll run away I’d come into the forest to see my face Covered up with fears of the things that unclear And the shadows darken by the fading sun I’d mend my pace to a complete darkness Until I can see the reflection of the real world Of the real me Then I’d realize that of all I’ve done I’m nothing but a brick Oo oh, oo oo oh I’m just a brick in the wall Oo oh, oo oo oh I’m just a brick in the wall No matter where I go, No matter where I run No matter where I stay I’m just a brick in the wall No matter what I have No matter what I know No matter what I’ve done I’m just a brick in the wall Can you see my face, full of uncertainty? Just like yours, puzzled by reality Can you feel my hands, cold and shaking like hell? Chilled by the wind, but I’m sure you’d understand Cause we’re just the same Flesh and bones We’re kids of the Earth We’re just bricks in the wall If one of us falls There’d be a hole The Earth starts to crumble Cause we’re the bricks Of the wall of the world We’re all the same bricks Of the wall of the world Let’s deal with reality
