supper silence

supper silence

A Story by yimps

We just kind of sat there. pretending to be focused on the food even though we both knew it wasn't that good. The silence lingered around the room. Not the comfortable kind but the one that made supper awkward. I couldn't event think of anything to say. We've had a life of adventures and travels behind us. But this very moment that didn't matter. You'd think that you can always make conversation with your dad. But we couldn't. I got up to get applesauce against my fathers will. It had always upset him when I ate applesauce with my green peas. But I needed to do something that would make him talk. Even if it wasn't a conversation I enjoyed, I needed something had to be said.
