We See the World

We See the World

A Poem by Vicky Zhuang Yi-Yin

We see the world

With whose eyes?

Do we hear the truth?

Or just the lies?

The darker days,

They start to rise

Our sins pour,

Hard from the skies

We see the world

In black and gray

The truth we learn

Will all decay

Prayers increase on

Day by day

Evil nourishes

Through our dismay

We see the world

Within a tunnel

Unaware of truths

Incomprehensible

We study more

For the unanswerable

The world tears up

Wrathful, unstable
