... There in the pond stood an elephant. It beckoned me to come in. My
feet, out of my control, walked into the water. Instinctively, I put my
head on his. I felt his breathe, heartbeat and feelings. We were
connected. And slowly I heard it. I heard the elephant's voice in my
head.
"Your people are killing
This world you are destroying
Ask them to halt
To come together, heart in heart
Conserve and consume what is in need
Refrain from this selfish, destructive deed
Ask them to heed this advise
Ere the world meets its demise"
Then there was nothing, I drifted into unconsciousness...
Initially this was written for a contest which had a picture prompt on StoryWrite, I really love the message being portrayed here, I hope people can learn a little bit from this. I hope you like it too.

If the animals could speak to us. They would tell us like the poor Native American told the white man. Land is not to be owned. It is to be worship. Bring food, shelter and air to breath to us. I like this poem. When I hear of animal life being instinct. It break my heart. A very good poem. Too bad we can't listen and understand what the animals are saying.

Many stories/movies have played the same sentiment, animals/natureasking man to wise up. But you did it here with compassion and just a touch of mysticism. Nice.
natural elements of the world are crying out in their own way against the onslought of mankind~ your poem is very moving and shows how humanity victimizes the world and its creatures around it through selfish greed~ poignant and powerful poem~
