The Mirror Cracked

The Mirror Cracked

A Poem by Yin Shu

THE MIRROR CRACKED

The Mirror Cracked

The mirror cracked, that day
This came as no surprise;
T'was when I tried to wipe it clear...
Of that soul before my eyes.

I stare at it with emptiness
And emptiness it does return;
Those eyes, with traumas deep and dear...
With so many tears, they burn.

Why did you pass this way, my love
Only then to pass away;
I held you in my arms, so near...
When the mirror cracked, that day.
