Mr. Eliot Spoke the Truth

Mr. Eliot Spoke the Truth

A Poem by Michael Dowell
"

I lost my Grandma last April to cancer. This is just a short poem that appeared randomly in my head.

"
Mr. Eliot Spoke the Truth

On rainy days like this one
my thoughts come to me all at once
one point in my mind
in one moment, all is said and done

and in April, I will think a lot
I will think of things both sad and happy
calm and angry
and of sorrow and hope

Oh, you have spoken true, Thomas
April is the cruelest month
to take her warmth from me and mine
