Our love, their game

Our love, their game

Please forgive my fan fiction. ^_^

You keep running, thinking that you'll be safe just around the corner. Taking a step back, I'll be able to catch you when you fall.
The street turns into a dead end alley, full of shards of rainbow glass. Cutting our hands and knees as we crawl to what we think is salvation.
Playing on our fears, on our need to survive, on the love we carry hidden in our hearts.
Concocting nightmare visions, burning the sky, poison berries the only way out.

The forest will hide us, will bring us the most pain, will hunt the hunter in this cruel game.

Run into my arms, fall with me from grace, the kiss we share starting a fire we don't know how to quell.
I see the fear in your eyes, not trusting me at all. An arrow poised for my heart, a knife behind my back and hoping the fall might kill me.
They give us a golden beginning, paint the path with blood and wait for us to make it to the bitter end.

Toying with our emotions, with our empathy, with the trust we rarely give to anyone.
Manufacturing lethal toys, filling springs with acid, bloodthirsty beasts at our heals.
We keep running, thinking it will all end soon. Wishing we never have to choose, between me and you.
They push us towards the end, wanting more. Only one thing left to give, to entertain them all with our last kiss.
