Simplicity

Simplicity

A Poem by H L Rose

I don’t remember simplicity.

Nothing seemed simple.

What happened to my memories?

I don’t long for them.

My minds painting,

that place we use to play,

feels empty

and grey.

I remember complexity.

It always seemed complex.

We had no idea where we were going,

locked in free time.

Riding bikes feels

Like the wind doesn’t want

Our wheels

To stop.
