The Gift of Forever

Forever is such a long time

and is very dear

A thing that cannot possibly rise over one

With you at my side forever

I really wouldn't mind

The prolonged hours of time will slow

and into shallow brevity

I will speak my thoughts of you

as you slowly drift away 

yet somehow return to me

Forever I will seek you as my own

and stave off the idea of losing you

These words I hold to my heart

are but only shards of the memories we share

I only want to see you smiling face

and forever to be at your side
