The original poem is relevant to the current anti-Arab hate. You have the power to speak up, now do so. Disagreeing with someone's religion is no excuse to support their persecution.

First they came for the Iraqis and I did not speak up because I am not an Iraqi, 

Then they came for the Muslims and I did not speak up because I am not a Muslim,

Then they came for the Arabs and I did not speak up because I am not an Arab,

Then they came for me and there was no one left to defend me.
