Mark 2 - Jesus forgives the sins of a paralytic lowered through the roof, and heals him. He calls Levi to follow Him, eats with tax collectors and sinners, and challenges the Pharisees over legalism.

The Paralytic’s friends were bold and true

and not content to wait behind the crowd.

They cleared away the roof and let him through

to Jesus; desperate faith became avowed.

When Jesus told him, much to their surprise,

“My son, I now forgive you all your sins.”

“It’s blasphemy, some thought, “deceptive lies.”

But Jesus knew their hearts, and so begins

a miracle unseen before that day:

“That you may know how much I may forgive �"

get up, pick up your mat and walk away.”

He did!  Was that the harder gift to give?

            To heal by just a word He has the power.

            We find forgiveness in His desperate hour.
