That Which

That Which

A Poem by Yellow_Rose

I have become that which I despise,

I have become that which I hate.

The one who would do Anything to get what she wants,

Disregarding the hearts of others.

I play the caring,

I play the kind,

And sometimes it almost feels real.

But I know deep inside,

There is nothing but ice.

I have nothing to give,

No love left in this soul.

All I have left is my life,

Not worthy to live.

But wait…..

That is the old me,

I almost forgot.

I no longer am she,

Not worth of living.

The ice has all melted,

And I can feel love.

I have friends who surround me,

And one who will love me.

Because the Real me is true,

And kind,

And caring.

And That is who I shall always be.

You are my inspiration for this.

All your poems are wonderful, but I think I like this best of all. It really connects to the reader, and shows that which we all fear, but at the same time that there is still hope. Just wonderful.
