I RememberA Poem by Yellow June
I remember the way she used to smile at me-
all crooked teeth that grew in much too fast. Her laughter was love as I knew it, and her bright eyes shined deep into my all. I remember the way she used to ask me all the things that I wanted to tell. And when she built a world from nothing, she alone was my whole world. I remember her growing to a lady- all the shy smiles she shared in doubt, and still her laugh could brighten up most any day, and she lived her life with such proud ease... We're older now, but I remember all the lazy days we spent in song And when I hear her laughter on the darkest days, I remember- she's not at all gone.
