OpressionA Poem by YeahXynniToo many blind in the world, try and open your eyes a little more.
Opression.
Listen to the sounds of the crying and weeping. To the American dream that you’ll only see when your sleeping. Until you awake, and begin to realize, that the truth of the matter is invisible to your own eyes. Stand before your flag, and pledge your loyalty, to the red and the blue, the supreme, and the royalty. The corporate henchmen who determine your fate, who suppress your ability to act for your own state. The middle class dedicated to working strenuous hours, abandon their personal life, while the lazy inherit all powers. While I sit back, and spectate the masses, engulfed in hard work, while corporate sits on their asses. I refuse to work, I won’t offer my assistance. Because when I speak my mind, I get labeled as resistance. Remaining myself, as a self-employer. No aspiration for a degree, as a doctor or lawyer. A self-made philosopher who’s stuck in repeat, watching decades of generations give in to defeat, watching my peers, and my family bow down to the feet, to the ones who promised, but only retreat. As I listen to the sounds of the crying and weeping, to the American dream that I’ll only see when I’m sleeping.
