This kinda reminded me of a shel Silverstein poem, similar rhythm and humor, and it seems to show that the child's perception of reality is slightly off with the picture when you show that it's just an insect lol. Well done, was expecting something paranormal or involving the invasion of dreams or something, pleasantly surprised

Interesting to read.this girl's imagination starts innocent enough but then turns to a dark place.not sure what the monster is but I think it's something inside of her mind or maybe it's something literal

Almost a reflection of modern relationships in a way, possibly even the fears one might have about motherhood.
Anyway, definitely intriguing and whimsical in it's own dark little way. I love reading what you do.

First, interesting art with your poem, especially the position (hanging over your words). Not sure if that was intentional, but it gives the poem a deeper meaner for me.

I see the "monster" as a little mental demon, perhaps the result of abuse or some other lingering trauma. Smartly or perhaps from desperation, "Little Mindy" wanted to catch it and control it. And, once controlled, "Little Mindy" can do as she wishes with the monster, including loving it or killing it. I might be way off on this one, but that's my interpretation. An original and well-crafted poem.

Wonderful! I love the way you have written and illustrated this 'naughty' poem. The little girl got her wish. But on a higher level it think it is a metaphor for controlling the monster inside or outside of us. If we can love it, we negate its powers and it can't harm us! I thought this poem was brilliantly done!
