The One Who is my Sister

She was the epitome of an evil step sister.

I feel extremely unlucky
that the random cosmos
strewn together in what was our family
linked me to you.
As a sister, as the first friend I'd make,
it had to be you.
As quickly as I grew I could see
you were no friend to me.
You waged sixteen years of constant battle,
SIXTEEN years
against me.
That's longer than the Civil War,
dear sister.
Longer than the Holocaust.
Much longer than WWII.
Where did that constant rage come from?
Whatever did I do?
I feel extremely unlucky
that out of 7 billion people
the one who is my sister
is you.

This is excellent. I have an amazing brother so I don't really know what it's like to not get along with a sibling but I think this makes it a little bit easier to understand.

Pure expression is always a great thing to let loose. It is an amazing thing to write without filtering or trying like this. Also this free style is really good. So many people have to deal with this. I was blessed by two amazing half siblings (so far) and a relativly kind step sister. I am sorry that you have to fight this battle thanks for sharing it with us though.
