The Empty Heart

A heart so full of hope

it feels as if I'm hanging from a rope

I dangle above the fate of loneliness 

yet i still yearn for some wholeness

Hold onto me I'm falling 

oh the darkness is calling

I want it all to stop for just a moment of peace

This feeling only seems to increase

My thoughts race through my mind like a rushing stream

my body lets out a shattering scream

I close my eyes to stop the flow of tears

Reminiscing through all of the years

Love can have a lethal hold 

It truly knows how to turn a person cold 

this feeling seems to never go away

i will continue to search for the day I'll be okay
