Speckle

Speckle

A Poem by YanZeros
"

Daze 2/5

"

Noon eve of 21'

Contemplating

What would it be like?

In the next few days to come

Figuring out, trying to be true

To oneself, late blooms, old blood

Little late, to another 30 years

To live.

Easily lost in thoughts, can't forget

Of memories worth of years, Decades.

Too early or maybe too late

On accepting fate,

Desperate Vitruvian Man

Crossing over the secret unknown

Getting closer to revelation

Pits before the doorsteps

Below is an infinite fall

Pitch black, silent void

Why am I here again?

What were the lessons to learn?

Will it be enough?

Will accepting the facts be enough?

Once I thought to be a complete world,

Is just a fragment of a speckle?

I wish life were so simple...

This is beautiful & reminiscent of when I was closer to your age, which is less than half my age. Back then, being on the crux of a new year seemed to beg for something significant to be said or thought. All the pondering, trying to come up with some profound pronouncement. But 35 years later, I've lost all that sense of wonder at a new year. Being old, it's time to slow down & pay more attention to stuff we never noticed back when we were rushing around & being purposeful. Now we slow down to savor the many wonders each new day brings. It's fun to compare the way you see this as a younger person, reminding me of how I've changed thru the years! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
