A Coward’s AffectionA Poem by YanZerosJ.R.W. 4/5Tomorrow’s never promised Here you are
always shows a smile Every time our
eyes meet. Since then, I kept
and treasured a Secret Sitting by your side
in 5th grade room. Drawn to you in
far distance Average and Sophisticated In a hallway of
crowds Seeing only you Y… am I too late
to notice? Regret? I do probably
will. Unprepared and Uninformed Bringing out the
courage Expressing this
abstract feeling Like a fool in the
night swings waiting I snatched to hold
your hand Exalted! But, there’s
no sting. Maybe, it’s not it? Coiling down under
the summer atmosphere On a bench waiting
to be called Wandering glances having
an empty head. Allured by a silky
straight hair, cute nose and tall yellowish-tan girl Ramp the aisle as
I froze to see a glimpse of her face. Due time I realized that, I am a Coward. © 2017 YanZerosFeatured Review
