Liquefied PetroleumA Poem by YanZerosOld House (2/5)Can't leave without checking Fumes might leak without breaking Longtime before the neighborhoods crying Screaming for help! the fire is burning! Wailing sounds here comes the rescuers Dealing off dark smokes and red fires Hose whose losses downed drowned on saving water Treasured things and memories turns to ashes Too young to understand the surrounding fear Questioning why we had to evacuate? Hearing warning siren seems so near We need to move out safely from this tore down house! Moving miles away from commotion and stress Cometh to shelter to my Mother’s friends house Failing to remember the looks of her face But won’t forget her long dark hair and her warming grace Now turmoil has finally receded Leaving not knowing the temporary address Wondering how her life could be? I just learned recently, She died with incurable disease... No matter how young we were back then We’re grateful to take refuge in her home Spending the time playing together with her two sons Asking myself... Where are they now? © 2016 YanZerosAuthor's Note
