The Lost Ones

The Lost Ones

A Poem by Paul Pruett

Back, back, back long ago, often do I dream.

Of loves gone away.

Some stolen.

Some given away in foolishness.

What moment of joy do I long for.

A night in their arms.

A mere whisper of what we had.

A kiss, soft and velvet of oh, distant love.

I stare at the walls and dream.

Of their creamy white flesh, ruby lips, love that seemed to last forever.

Now gone in a flash.

Back and back do I dream.

Longing for one moment to tell them of my love.

How it remains with in me.

Ever a part of my soul.

This life filled with loves gone away.

Some stolen.

Some given away in foolishness.

But all gone.

Remaining but nothing except in my dreams.

Such beautiful dreams though .. words like these don't drift from dull moments but gloriously hot and memorable ones.

Good to see your words again, has been a while.
