O, ValentineA Poem by Paul PruettFor Her. And she will know who she is. I hope. I long to read this to her one day.
There is sweetness to your name, when it’s spoken.
A gleam in your eyes when you look my way.
That music in your voice that captures me so.
I am yours, now and forever more through time and eternity.
My soul leaps when you draw near.
My skin quivers at the very touch of your fingers.
I am so lost to you when your nails scratch my flesh.
O Valentine, love me and I will live forever.
My heart beats so fast when I touch your skin.
When we make love I can see God’s heaven on high.
As we lay together the morning sun warms us.
I could be thus for the rest of my days.
God has blessed me so by bringing you to me.
I can never thank him enough for this gift of your love.
My body and soul are forever thine.
O Valentine, love me and I will live forever.
I was a mere shell before you found me.
Nothing just a helpless automaton.
Going through the motions of life.
Came that glorious day when you appeared.
My heart leapt in my chest with renewed fire.
She had come unto my lonely life.
A goddess, an angel, a muse to spark my tired soul.
With a touch of her fingers my life revived.
O Valentine, love me and I will live forever.
The deepness of what we have ever grows.
It flowers, grows higher and flowers still.
The breeze carries the scent of our love across the miles.
Our union has been so blessed by God.
Each and every day I thank and praise him for his gift to me.
That holy gift unto me is you.
O Valentine, you love me and we shall live forever.
