If Thy Heart Offends Thee......A Poem by Paul PruettThis was a slow and very painful birth.
Have wronged you in some way?
Some offense without knowing.
Of this I assure you.
I was never my intention to cause you pain.
I would sooner injure myself then you.
Your silence deafens me.
Nothing can I do but fall to my knees.
Cry unto the Lord, beg your forgiveness.
Have I wronged you in some way?
I am a foolish man, prone to foolish things.
Not perfect, no any pretense to be so.
Just a simple man, prone to failings.
Beset with faults (and I have many)
Not trying to save the world, just my barren soul.
Have I wronged you in some way?
I am a foolish man, prone to foolish things.
Trying not to save the world.
Just my lonely barren soul.
