Down The Lane and Far Away.A Poem by Paul PruettJust an image that got stuck in my head about a day ago.
Here is my hand, stretched out to you.
Come, take it.
We shall stroll arm in arm.
Or fingers intertwined.
Down the lane and Far away.
I care not for the length of the journey.
Nor the trails and snares that befall.
All the matters is your nearness.
The comfort of your love.
Down the lane and far away.
With you here at my side life is perfect.
I can ask the Lord for no more.
All that I pray for, wish for, am blessed with.
Is here, staring into my eyes.
Down the lane and far away.
Sadly my wish has not come true.
God does not answer my constant prayer.
I search high and low and still fall short.
There seems no end to my empty journey.
Down the lane and far away.
Down this long lane and o, so far away.
