Dreams Of Lost LoveA Poem by Paul PruettThis started out as some prose. But I began to trim and cut here and there. I am fairly happy with the tone and feeling. What a meloncholy day.
Remember when we sat in the car, talking.
Just talking.
We had left that party early.
I had said that stupid line to you.
It worked.
I knew there was something going on between us.
Others had said so. I saw it yet didn’t.
How beautiful you were.
How beautiful.
We sat in that car, the night deepened.
The radio echoed our passion.
How beautiful.
When we kissed it was like nothing I’d ever felt before.
Magic that filled that moment forever burned on my soul.
Here now, so many years and miles later I still burn.
How can that be?
For it is all that I have to keep me warm.
Memories of that night.
That moment.
How much I loved you.
How much I miss you.
How beautiful.
