No.

No.

A Poem by Paul Pruett

No, you cannot have my soul anymore.

You’ve held it in your hands long enough.

My love for you has not changed.

Tho it seems yours for me has.

I can never think ill of you, for you have done me no wrong.

You have moved on, but keep that firm grip on my heart.

Not needing it as it appears you don’t.

I’d like it back.

What am I to do, when I still love you this way.

Pray for your happiness and my freedom, I suppose.

No, you cannot have my soul anymore.

I’d like it back.

It is in pieces.

Maybe with time, it can heal again.

I doubt it.

Very touching lines of loss and real, though one way, love.
