The Sea

The Sea

A Poem by Paul Pruett
"

Went for a walk at the sea shore today. So peaceful.

"

She rises and falls.

Rises and falls.

Rises and falls.

She is gentle with her voice.

But can roar when she wishes.

She whispers to me, white lace comes close to me.

She moves in and retreats.

She is power and beauty and mystery all in one.

An endless blue-green blanket stretching on forever.

She whispers to me.

And yet does not remember, so it is said.

What a wonder to take my sorrow from me.

I can stare and her and she smiles back.

She rises and falls.

Rises and falls.

And I thank her for cleansing my soul.

'She whispers to me, white lace comes close to me. ~ She moves in and retreats. ~ She is power and beauty and mystery all in one.'

This is written so gently; less metaphors than pale yet sparkling streaks across a canvas. Beautiful, magical.
