SLAVES TO SELF

SLAVES TO SELF

A Story by Yahya Oulad Aouid

God spoke his light unto us, commanding us to impart it for it doesn't belong to man. Yet the light quickly fades before it can ever be imparted. Wherever there is light, darkness awaits in preparation, and man causes his damnation as is eternally written in the Abrahamic scrolls. The sombreness of the good eats at their light once they realize that light is out of darkness born. And just like everyone else, they become everyone else.

God spoke his light unto us, and his light is perpetually sung through every fragment shaping up his dome. And the tune is hummed for us to be serenated towards the truth, yet the cunning of man defeans him, and he orchestrates his own songs of conceit and deceit. He walks in his mortal shade deeming himself superior to the one whose dominion defies time and space.
The wicked is us all along. We are the night to eachother's light, and our conceit prevents the moon from glowing above, for our pride is great yet mortal, but his grace is subtle yet timeless. Man has grown rogue to his truth once he thought he could wield fire, yet with the fire he burns himself first, then others, and never illuminates.

God spoke his light unto us, yet in the shade of our fears we walk, and behind our brethren, we down talk. In our flights of dread, we blame it on the devil, for man can't bare the burden he made himself carry. Carrying a liability, man becomes another's liability, and the devil is the bin to our sins, and we've over-filled the bin.
We are all children of God, and a child can bear no wisdom but one, that everyone must be a child like he. But we have rebelled, and the child we murdered.

Such is the story of man. In his folly, he is in exile of himself, in denial of his banishment, unaware that in his mortal wake, his glint is being snatched from the light he shall emanate.

This was profound and poetic. A reminder there is a higher call and our egos constantly betray us. We must embrace our inner child and faithfully devote our lives to the creator. Thank you for this inspirational writing.

I agree, I think all of us are slaves to ourself. It seems we never seem to think of how and what may effect other's, I like what you said about "the devil is the bin to our sins, and we've over-filled the bin." SO VERY TRUE... Nicely written.
