NEMESISA Poem by Yahya Oulad AouidYou only live twice so it seems, Once for yourself and once in your dreams. Once in virtue or by dishonest means, For man is crude to the air he breathes, When the ego denies the soul that feeds, The body remains yet the essence flees, Virtuous are those that see beyond seas. When darkness seizes the one who steers, When the tide is high and the fog don't ceaze, For the fallen leaves, for the heart that bleeds, The canvas is yours with the brush that heals, Under the celestial dome of night-time breeze, Freeze your time and the mind that speeds. Blossomed leaves scattered over a man that heaves, For man rises up from his primordial needs, Under the cooling shade of night-time trees; In front of the mountainous summit that gleams, He stands and pardons, and overlooks his deeds, He stands and vows, he stands and frees.
