Aren't you already dead if you have no dreams?

Like a battered ship

i anchor all of my

hopes and dreams

leave them be

as i touch the sand

not looking back

while they all grieve for me .

I agree with you . . . it does seem to make us feel somewhat dead inside when we get to the point described in your poem: “leave our dreams be & not looking back” . . . Sometimes I felt like giving up on my dreams, but in time, we often seem to get another breath of fresh air that helps us get started believing again.
