Death SmilesA Poem by YahalloI always imagined a faceless, invisible Death. Floating like a wind...
dark gray watercolour
painted the sky whole a high mountain behind me keeps watching me ….. smell of rain mixed with iron from my battered bike grass tickling my feet as i cycle faster and ….. the mud and trees shake a roar from the clouds a lightning flashes as Death takes a picture of someone ….. i saw Them with my own eyes floating above the ground looking down on a young boy and grins at him like it's nothing ….. sweat or rain swim down my face with clutched fists i exclaim "let him live you murderer" in a storm i hear a deep chuckle ….. in the blink of an eye They come near i'm not brave enough to return the gaze but Death's hand on my shoulder is warm its grip is strong but gentle enough ….. "if it were not for me no one would ever live the boy has never died he is moving on" ….. © 2018 YahalloFeatured Review
