Amusement at My Punishment

He wouldn't take me back,

No matter how much I begged

No matter how much I bargained

He just wouldn't

And I guess he had his reasons

Time always passed slowly

Like every minute was a year

Many spirits came

Many of them left

In the end,

Like always I was left alone

Every cloud that I walked

Seemed to lose its purity,

The whiteness of it,

Was consumed by the sadness and hatred in my heart

But even I always fell

Landing on one cloud and another

Getting further and further away from the hell I used live in

But no where closer to the hell I wanted to go.

But why was that?

It was like an endless cycle.

It seemed as though when I had lost myself

I also lost the options set for me

This was my punishment

This was the made-believe hell

That I had created for myself,

How appropriate,

rather than he punishing me

I punished myself

And I knew with that

That was his reason

He enjoyed what he couldn't touch

And I let him enjoy it.

After all I was in love with the Devil.
