Forward and Back

There are two realms: What can be seen and what is beyond sight But it's all too human to only trust your eyes

The scent of blood was all around me

I was bathed in it

The soft pitter patter of it dripping of the walls

I hated it

I loathed it

He took me away from my world;

Bringing me into his.

He was god to himself and other

Yet when I looked into his eyes,

That hatred would burn away.

He always watched me

How I would react, when I came to my senses.

How I would shake at the sight of blood on my hands.

He wasn't a monster

He wasn't an animal

He just found it amusing

"Will you kill me?" I would whisper to the shadows the dark

Yet, he always answered, repeating the same phrase…

"Not Today"
