The poor little coathanger

The poor little coathanger

A Poem by Anya
"

Oh the poor little coathanger... All he wanted was a coat!!

"

The little coat hanger hung in the cupboard,

Like all good coat hangers should,

Collecting dust and bits of fluff,

feeling sadly sorry for itself.

It was made out of some wire,

then hung on a bit of thread,

dangling from the iron bar,

in the small cupboard like shed.

It smelt of red and all things green,

and everything else in between,

and on its bent, triangle shape,

the mites gathered like sheep.

There was no sign of a shirt,

or even a coat, a top, a blazer

And the little coat hanger hung forever more,

imagining a dream like splendor.
