Antighoulish

Antighoulish

A Poem by Robin
"

An adaptation of "Antigonish", by William Hughes Mearns.

"
Yesterday, trapped in my snare,
I caught something it could not bare.
It brandished sharpened claws at me,
Yet trembling I set it free.

When I rushed home that night at four,
It was sat waiting at my door,
And when I sprinted down the halls,
It followed me along the walls.
Go away, go away, when will this nightmare cease?
Go away, go away, please let me have my peace!

By morning, at the foot of my bed,
Stood a mangled creature missing its head,
As my trophy I had claimed its face,
Which now hung above my fireplace....
